Closure of Storey Arms Camping Area – Summer 2021
As with all outdoor centres, the Storey Arms Centre has been closed since March 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
As things are starting to ease, we are hoping that we will be able to re-open for day visits in the near future, with residential visits shortly after.
We will be operating within all the recommended guidelines to ensure that we are Covid-secure and this means that we will need to make full use of the indoor and outdoor resources that we have at the centre. This includes the camping area, camping shelter and outside toilets.
With this in mind, we felt that if we were to welcome camping groups to the centre, management of the facilities would become even more complicated.
For that reason, we have reluctantly decided that we are going to close the camping area for this summer to outside groups.
I do hope that you understand our position. We really do need to prioritise our work programme and unfortunately, the camping area is not a large part of our work.
You might be able to find alternative camping facilities at the following locations, both of which are situated a short walk down the Drovers’ Road from the Storey Arms.
Brecon Beacons Youth Hostel Libanus, Brecon LD3 8NH OS Grid Ref. SN973225
Blaen Glyn Farm, Libanus, Brecon LD3 8NF OS Grid Ref. SN 977227 Facilities: Water/WC
We do appreciate your interest in staying with us and hope to welcome you back to the Storey Arms Camping Area in 2022.
Stay safe and well.
Andy Meek, Head of Centre
