Clothing List Summer Activity Day

Your choice of clothing can make or break your visit to the Storey Arms.  Mountain weather, even in summer, can be notoriously bad and some of the activities require extra-warm clothing.  Be prepared for the worst!

This list assumes that you will wear normal, casual clothes to and from the centre but not used during the activities.

EXTRA clothing for the outdoors

  • trousers, leggings or tracksuit bottoms
(definitely NO jeans – they are too cold when they get wet)
  • 2 warm fleece jumpers
  • 1 t-shirt or thermal top
  • 1 pair of thick socks
  • old shorts (for use over wetsuit)
  • swimming costume (optional)
  • sun hat / baseball cap
  • warm hat and gloves
  • training shoes (these will probably get wet!)
  • wellington boots (if you have them)

Specialist Equipment

  • The centre will provide all the specialist equipment that you may need.  This includes waterproof clothing and boots (if you don’t have your own).

Additional Items

  • packed lunch (in a box) and hot drink (in a flask)
  • cold drink (optional)
  • 1 towel
  • toiletries
  • 1 change of underwear
  • large polythene bag or old carrier bags (for wet clothing)
  • sun cream (minimum factor 30)
